Behold The Lamb Of God

We're on our way to see one of our favorite musicians and story-tellers, Andrew Peterson, only this time he's with several friends, performing his hit Christmas CD, Behold the Lamb of God.  If you only buy one Christmas CD this year, this is the one!  And, the Dallas Morning Star says so too.  We've been following Andy for about 9 years now and I'm so excited about this concert tonight!   I hear that Derek Webb might even be with him tonight too.  Derek is another favorite!  Check out Derek's new way to promote artists through www.noisetrade.com.

Third Day

We've been following the band, Third Day, since they toured their first album back in 1996 when they were the opening, opening band for the Newsboys.  The concert was at Walter Williams High School in Burlington, NC and Third Day played even before Plankeye, if you can believe that.  I'll never forget the simple sheet-like banner hanging behind Mac Powell and the band.  They played four, maybe five songs, and I was hooked.  We continued to attend Third Day concerts through the Come Together tour in 2001.  We haven't been to a Third Day concert since.  I'm not sure why not...college tuition, maybe. 

On Friday night, our Third Day dry spell ended when we attended House Party, an annual Habitat For Humanity fund-raiser.  I've been listening to Third Day all week.  If you've never heard of Third Day or you just want to check out snippets from their new release, Revelation, you can check them out here and let me know what you think.

Ended The Way It Began

My week started off awesomely, as I spent Sunday evening with 10 friends and family members at one of my favorite venues, the Carrboro ArtsCenter; where I finally experienced my favorite band...live!  If you have never heard of Over The Rhine...check them out here. 

I haven't come down from my OTR high, when tonight we saw another great artist, Denison Witmer at the Local 506.  Denison is great story teller who uses music as his canvas.  You can download some tunes here, and Denison only asks for a donation to support a couple of worthy causes.

A great ending to a great beginning!
